Post subject:  Reporting low overnight

Hi folks. I've had an OptiSmart for a couple of weeks, and until recently it has been working fine - however, for most of the night it has now started reporting 16W load which is much too low, generally it should about 80W base then jumping upwards when the fridge/freezer compressor turns on. During the day when the load is higher it seems to work correctly.

I've checked the installation on the meter and nothing has changed there, it's all attached correctly. Any ideas what else to do? Is it worth taking the battery out, resetting the link to the EnviR etc.?

I guess you have the bridge linking to my.currentcost.com ?

My shared output is like this http://my.currentcost.com/device/10202

Possible wireless interference between optismart and envir?

Also do you have the USB cable for your EnviR?

If yes, you could check the stored meter reading data in the optismart and compare it again 24 hrs later to see if it has gone up by the same amount as your meter (read meter at start and end of test).

The OptiSmart stores the meter pulse count so if you record this value and then do the same 24hrs or more later the value should have changed by the same amount in kwh that your meter clocked up in the same time period (divided by 1000 or whatever your meter pulse rate is per kwh).

The "C2 Terminal" program will do to check the data http://currentcost.com/software-downloads.html

http://currentcost.posterous.com/optism ... developers tells you which bit of the output to look for in the "under the bonnet" section.

Automan.
